Current Situation:

Hello there! I'm Daniel Neumann, I've recently graduated Staffordshire University with a First-Class Honours BSc(Hons) Games Programming degree.

With a placement year and experience working on TIGA award nominated games, I'm looking to grab myself a software engineering job to support me and future while doing something I love!

I want to be able to bring the same joy and positive influence games have had on my life to others, and despite finishing uni I'm still ever in the process of learning how to do that, so I'm glad you can be a part of this journey.

I'm constantly looking for new projects to sink my teeth into, or new people to play games with, so let me know if you've got either for me.

The Future:

My main long term goal is to become a successfull games programmer at a major games company, but the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. My next step... Entering the industry!

The next step is a big and challenging one, so to make sure I'm ready to take it I'm working on improving my projects to show off in my portfolio.

Hobbies and Interests:

I enjoy attending game or computer science related conferences and talks, as I love to learn about new ideas which provide me with the knowledge to improve my own projects.

I love video games that give me a wide set of complex options so that I can optimise my playstyle and challenge myself by enforcing difficult rules on how I play the game. This is why my favourite game is Divinity Original Sin II, alongside it's deep story, rich environments, and intricate combat system, it allows for such a wide diversity of play that after several hundred hours of play, I am still discovering new ways to optimise and enjoy it each time I play.

I’m an avid fan of table top games and regularly meet up with a group of friends to play new and old beloved games alike. I’ve recently been getting into LUA scripting to be able to make mods for the game Tabletop Simulator where we meet up weekly for board games or sessions of my year-long DND campaign.

Baking is great fun, and I love sharing my baked goods, especially my famous cookies with my mates.

I’ve played for a regional level basketball team which has positively influenced my communication and teamwork and I still play to keep healthy and happy.

I also enjoy reading fantasy.
